Sivasspor match preview
By: j | September 25th, 2008After the relief of the 3-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği, Fenerbahçe returns to Süper Lig action against Sivasspor tomorrow.
It has been a unique week of preparation for Luis Aragonés squad as while they must be feeling a sense of ease after a very solid rebound, their injury situation is problematic. Daniel Güiza and Alex sat out most practices this week while Semih Şentürk, Edu Dracena, Gökçek Vederson and Josico have been focusing upon re-hab. All will be available except Gökçek Vederson and Josico, who are excluded from the squad list.
Considering that the club will face Dynamo Kyiv in their second Champions League match next Tuesday and they must win at Şükrü Saracoğlu to have a chance at advancing in the competition after losing to Porto, the Yellow Canaries are in a trying tactical position.
Sivasspor has yet to lose a match this season with impressive victories over Kocaelispor and Bursaspor whilst playing to draws against Kayserispor and a resurgent EskiÅŸehirspor. They came within a whisper of qualifying for the Champions League last campaign and surely must smell a perfect opportunity to overcome Fenerbahçe. Last years match at Şükrü SaracoÄŸlu ended 1-0 favour of the home squad on a Robert Carlos goal mid first half. Bülent Uygun’s YiÄŸidolar employed a very aggressive approach in that match and Luis Aragonés can expect the same with Mehmet Yıldız and Israeli international Pini Balili leading a very dangerous strike-force.
