“Our only aim is to beat Arsenal tomorrow”

By: j | November 5th, 2008

Sitting at the bottom of Group G, Fenerbahçe must rally for a victory against Arsenal if they are to continue to advance in their European efforts.

Fenerbahçe manager Luis Aragonés said of the match:

“Our only aim is to beat Arsenal tomorrow. We want to progress, and in order to do that we need to win this match.”

The Yellow Canaries come into the match very short in the midfield with Emre Belözoğlu, Tümer Metin, Önder Turacı and Alex out. However they face a Arsenal squad that has fallen far off-course recently, with a dreadfully played 4-4 draw to Tottenham before losing 2-1 to Stoke City this past weekend and will be without Emmanuel Eboue, William Gallas, Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor and Theo Walcott. If their is a story-line to this match it is of the problems that have plagued Fenerbahçe this campaign and of the recent issues that off pushed the Gunners off-course and of-course of the club that rises to the occasion.

I will report on the match as it concludes.
