Fenerbahçe’s financial windfall

By: j | August 28th, 2008

Fenerbahçe advancement to the Champions League group stage in combination with Steaua BucureÅŸti’s defeat of Galatasaray has resulted in a massive financial windfall for club.

With UEFA allocating €10m in broadcasting revenue to Turkish clubs in the Champions League the loss effectively transfers one-hundred per-cent of this fee to Fenerbahçe. The club equally receives an additional €5.4m for making it through to the group stage as well as significant incentives for wins and draws in the competition.
