Fenerbahçe holds Arsenal to scoreless draw
By: j | November 5th, 2008
In what was by-far their best performance of the campaign, Fenerbahçe put forth a determined and efficient defensive plan and held Arsenal to a nil draw at Emirates. The draw leads Fenerbahçe at the bottom of Group G, two points behind Dynamo Kyiv and three behind Porto with two matches remaining.
The Gunners swarmed the attacking end but were unable to break-through. Robin van Persie in particular could have scored any number of occasions but whether it was the ‘keeping of Volkan Demirel or poor finishing, the Gunners night ended with frustration. The Yellow Canaries offensive attacks amounted to nothing more than a few long range efforts and nary a realistic scoring chance. The draw leaves their hopes of advancing alive although due to yellow card infractions both Selçuk Şahin and Diego Lugano are ruled out for the important match against Porto on November 25.

That was close.Edu and Lugano have probably played their best match ever since they’ve signed with Fenerbahçe.To be honest,I believe Arsenal have deserved to win.Volkan was also spectecular.Another point took my attention was the low-condition of your players. They walked and screamed the ball out at the last 15 minutes, only Guiza was trying to do something.

Ozzy, I agree with you on all accounts. In particular the issue of condition of the players as they have very low work-rate throughout their matches.
