Fenerbahçe Extended Perfect Away Winning Record to 11 Matches After 1-0 Win Over KayserisporBy: Deniz Kutsal | September 24th, 2011
Injury hit Fenerbahçe secured their 11th away win a row in the Turkish Super League since January 2011 against Kayserispor. An early goal in 7th minute from Fenerbahce’s left winger Caner Erkin secured a 1-0 win on Friday night at Kayseri Kadir Has Stadium.
Yellow Canaries played their familiar 4-4-2 system where a disciplined defensive task didn’t allow for a equaliser to the opponent team. Injured first team players Emre Belozoglu, Serdar Kesimal, Gökhan Gönül, Mehmet Topuz and Selçuk Şahin not been able to play against Kayserispor. Senegalese Winger Issiar Dia and Experienced Striker Semih Şentürk was rested one match in accordance to fixture intensity as Fenerbahce played 4th league game in 11 days and gained 10 points, this is a quite significant performance.
I also have special praise for 18 years old midfielder Gökay Iravul who plyaed for 90 minutes and showed a promising midfield talent. He organized the middle very well and basically did for Fenerbahçe what Xavi does for Barcelona. I appreciate Coach Aykut Kocaman’s match squad and i believe Kocaman will continue to support Fenerbahce’s future like Gökay Iravul, Berk Elitez, Hasan Erbey and Recep Niyaz for upcoming matches.
