Fenerbahçe continues to climb
By: j | December 20th, 2008Fenerbahçe continued its climb up the table before the short year-end break with a close 2-1 victory over Konyaspor. Önder Turacı and Deivid de Souza gave the Yellow Canaries the two goal, scoring in the final eleven minutes before the break. The Konyaspor fought back and seven minutes after the break Veysel Cihan broke free, scoring to bring the match within one. The home fought valiantly with Erhan Albayrak coming within a whisper of leveling the match with only a few minutes but it was not to be and Yellow Canaries grabbed the much needed three points.
Fenerbahçe returns to Süper Lig in the final week of January against Trabzonspor in addition to Türkiye Kupası action starting on January 7.
