EskiÅŸehirspor match preview
By: j | October 31st, 2008
Week nine of the Süper Lig season takes Fenerbahçe to Eskişehir face the Kırmızı Şimşekler. Since being promoted last year Eskişehirspor has adjusted immediately to the top flight and are one of the best stories of the early season. Locked in a tie with the Yellow Canaries, Eskişehirspor is led by the legendary Rıza Çalımbay of Beşiktaş fame. They have yet to lose on their home grounds, Atatürk Stadyumu, this year including last weeks 4-2 dismissal of Galatasaray and will continue to surprise clubs who take them likely. They possess a selection of quality attackers including ex-NK Zagreb man Krunoslav Lovrek, Serdar Özbayraktar, Anderson and Souleymane Youla.
Luis Aragonés heads into the match without the services of Kâzım Kâzım, whose foolish red-card in this Türkiye Kupası extends to league play. For the match they have posted the following squad:
Volkan Demirel, Volkan Babacan, Gökhan Gönül, Diego Lugano, Yasin Çakmak, Edu Dracena, Robert Carlos, Selçuk Şahin, Claudio Maldonado, Josico, Ali Bilgin, Deivid de Souza, Alex de Souza, Uğur Boral, Gökçek Vederson, Semih Şentürk, Daniel Güiza & İlhan Parlak.
I will report on the match as it concludes.
