Diego Lugano’s New Defensive Partner is Joseph Yobo
By: Deniz Kutsal | September 1st, 2010
Everton’s experienced defender Joseph Yobo moved to Fenerbahçe at transfer deadline day on a season-long loan that could become a permanent £5million transfer. Thus, after the former Nigeria National Team Captain Uche Okechukwu, new transfer Joseph Jobo has been the second Nigerian Captain for Yellow Canaries which had been entering his ninth season at Goodison Park and having played over 250 times in a inspiring Everton career.
Fenerbahçe’s fans has already impressed with Uche Okechukwu’s loyalty and with his hard work. They have lots of respect to veteran defender. I believe Joseph Yobo also can find a real solution to our team’s goal conceding problem and can deserve supporters’ gratitude with his coming performance. He’s the right choice to organise the defence well following Fabio Bilica’s poor performance.
Finally, is it fair to expect to have a new midfielder just hours before the transfer window closed? I hope yes (:
Edit: Please find the below informations about Joseph Yobo’s recent Premier League performance from Christophe the editor of Everton The Offside. He did a nice favor for us and i publish it directly on Fenerbahçe The Offisde from his own hand. Thanks again mate!
“I have been personally quite impressed by Yobo when I have seen him play, which used to be often. I read that his “big” Premeirship season was 2002. I find that hard to believe, but time can fly. 2006/7 was when he played almost every minute of the season. Since then it appears that he has been progressively more hampered by injuries, and the acquisition of Distin may have made him surplus to requirements, but I would have certainly disagreed over the last two weeks, as Everton has looked way too vulnerable at the back. I always liked him, found him tenacious but a clean player, and hope he can get his form back in Istanbul…
