By: j | October 25th, 2008In a stunning turnaround, Fenerbahçe defeated Bursaspor 5-2 at Şükrü Saracoğlu with four goals after the break.
The match was full over surprises as Deivid de Souza and Gökçek Vederson returned to the lineup from injury. Only six minutes into the match Alex’s corner was headed-in by Diego Lugano, giving the loyal supporters something to cheer about. Although there were numerous chances to add to the lead, finishing was still amiss and the match went to the break with the 1-0 lead intact. However after the break, the floodgates opened with UÄŸur Boral doubling the score five minutes in and Edu Dracena adding the third with twenty-three minutes remaining. With the match no longer in doubt Alex pounced on a in-close rebound to make it 4-0 with fifteen minutes later. The visitors tried to make it close with consolation goals by Marcelinho Rodrigues and Bekir Has at eighty and eighty-eight minutes respectfully but the outcome was never in doubt. Yet the night wasn’t complete as deep into added time, if dealt by the hands of fate a Robert Carlos cross to Deivid de Souza in-the-box, was re-directed into the net giving Fenerbahçe a glorious 5-2 victory.
Fenerbahçe returns to Eskişehirspor against Eskişehirspor against next Sunday.
